The deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Adekunle Ajasin University,
Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Prof. Oluyemisi Adebowale has disclosed that
out of the 17,904 candidates that are participating in the post-UTME
screening exercise of the institution only about 4000 students will be
admitted.
While speaking on the general conduct of the screening exercise, she expressed satisfaction over the success recorded so far.
“So far, it has been a success story. The facilities and the technical
know-how we have put in place are working perfectly. We have improved
greatly on the previous exercise. Prior to this year’s exercise, results
were delayed till after the whole exercise, leading to congestion and
security challenges because many of the candidates would have to hang
around.
“This time around, we organized the exercise in such a way that
candidates receive their results daily. We close by 3:00pm every day,
give some hours’ gap for candidates to return to their various homes. By
7:00pm, we release their scores and send to their phones via SMS.” She
stated.
She warned admission seekers against patronizing fraudsters saying that admission into the school is strictly buy merit.
“At the end of the test, we will collate all the results and go to the
drawing board to decide the cut-off mark. Any candidate whose score
falls within the required mark is automatically admitted. Candidates
don’t need to know anybody. Our admission at AAUA is still absolutely
merit-driven.” She emphasized.
